Prestwick Performance Regatta Preview
The big open sea venue of Prestwick in SW Scotland will host its Performance Regatta on May 7/8. The regatta, with its formula of short sharp races, four per day, will attract every performance class worth knowing. For instance, it will be the first event of the season for the Scottish Skiff circuit. The Skiffs are expected to include a strong Musto Skiff class plus other fast boats including 49ers and RS800s. The ISO class have chosen the regatta for their first Northern Series event of the year, and they will have the chance to compete against many other skiff classes as well as in their own class.
The local RS300 fleet is among the strongest in the UK, and it will welcome competitors from all over the country to the class?s Scottish Championships, and Gul Grand Prix event. The most recent recruits to join the fun in this high performance weekend are the 420 class, who start their Scottish circuit here.
All sailors from near and afar are sure of a warm welcome at Prestwick, and spectators are sure to see some very exciting action on the water. More information at
