Your 2023 Sailing Calendar is here! As always, your RS Class Association has secured the support of fantastic sponsors including Rooster who once again headline our national tour, Noble Marine and Allen are supporting our Nationals (more about that later) and Rope4Boats are sponsoring our Inlands.
This year, our Rooster National Tour continues the one event per month logic to give you plenty of reasons to get out and race for circuit glory! The tour also includes the return of the Scottish Champs where Dalgety Bay SC get to show off their new slipway and a growing Scottish fleet. It’s an opportunity to revisit the old English v Scottish rivalry that can’t be missed!
You’ll note the arrival of Development Days this year. These are new to the fleet and an opportunity to get some coaching from our gold fleet sailors so you can sail faster or maybe just fall over less often! If you’re yet to venture onto the travelling circuit, consider giving these events a go – we’ll show you what the fleet is all about. What’s more, with support from the RS Class Association family, these events have been partially subsidised to make them as accessible as possible and for every event you attend, you’ll get £20 off your national’s entry fee! As with all other events, our class demo boat will be in attendance wherever possible for you, a friend or prospective RS300 sailor to try – spread the word!
The big-ticket item of the year; our national championships, will be hosted by Dovey YC over 7th-10th September. Dave Acres stood atop the podium at our last visit there and will I’m sure be eager to challenge reigning champion, and now Wales resident, Paul Watson for the title. Dovey YC will be pulling out all the stops to give the warm welcome they are famed for, whilst Noble Marine and Allen are supporting this flagship event for 2023. I look forward to seeing you there!
Finally, a reminder that all the above is only possible with the support of you, our sailors, and our Class Association, so thank you! If you haven’t gotten round to renewing your membership this year, or perhaps you’re new; now is the best time to join us. Your membership helps us secure fabulous, prizes and venues; gives you access to all our Rooster National Tour, Development Days and Championship events whilst negotiating discounts from great sailing suppliers.
